We created JAM Longboards to capture and reflect our combined 75 years of stoke about surfing, longboard surfing and skateboarding. We envisioned boards that would be extremely impressive and uncommon, would perform very well, mimic longboard surfing, and that people would love to ride and look at. Our current models represent our vision, and we think you'll agree they provide colossal distinction and conspicuous benefits. DECKS - The first thing people notice about our boards is their size, shape and design. At 80 inches they're stunning- plain and simple. Nobody is producing anything close. Our Silverback, Tuna, and Iguana shapes are patterned off traditional big wave gun longboards. A classic shape not found on many longboards today. Our Python (80") has styled curved lines pleasing to the eye. Sure, you can find a few companies stamping out a token 60" board, but it's not their forte. We specialise in longboards. Our decks are very strong, perform at a high level, flex just the right amount, and are good looking. We use premium quality birch hardwood plywood with no filler or voids. On our Eighties we integrate truck pads for complete deck strength. Decks are cut digitally to achieve perfect dimensional precision, then hand routed and hand painted. We don't piece together, machine heat mold, clamp bend, or stamp out our decks. Not that there's anything wrong with that- we just believe the least amount of fiddling, the better. PAINT DESIGN - Every board is hand painted using materials and technique that allows the wood grain to show through. Our nose-to-tail color fades strengthens visual appeal. Also, the 80's retro striping creates a truly unique and classic pattern for each board. Many customers have described them as "works of art." This is unheard of in the skateboard industry today. WHEELS - We use industry leading ABEC11 wheels and Kryptonics. We've tried them all, and we think they're the best wheels for our boards. TRUCKS - We use Tracker Trucks. They are the original wide truck skateboard design taking the age old rollerskate "between wheel-to-wheel" width to the next dimension. They have the cleanest axel/pivot pin turning radius in the industry. Where other skateboard trucks fail in strength, they excel. We also use Original Super 10 Carving Truck standard on the Iguana "Carve Monster", and can use it with our other models, except the Piranha. SPEED, STYLE, PERFORMANCE - The combination of an 80" deck with ABEC11 wheels, and Tracker 219 Dart trucks is unbelievable. Just check out our customer comments page. It's hard to describe, but it might be like riding on the back of an Orca- extremely smooth, responsive, powerful, and as fast as you want to go. For styling, anything you can do on a longboard can be done on our skateboards. Cross step, noseride, laybacks, drop knee turns, 180's, tandem, nose wheelies- you name it. For pure speedboarding, our longboards are among the fastest, and as more skating contests expand to accomodate events for longer boards- Freestyle, Giant Slalom, Super G races- you'll see more riders on JAM boards. VISUAL IMPACT - We don't need to tell anybody about the visual impact of our boards. We just show them, and they drop trou. It's one of those intangible things difficult to measure, but people stop, and heads turn toward a JAM board. Maybe it's the retro striping and paint job, or the big gun shape, or the sheer length. It becomes the center of attention. People want to touch it, ride it, talk about it, and own it.
